In an attempt to make the 72nd Independence Day a special and memorable one, our Indians in Assam’s Uparkhuti village made 3.5 Km long tricolour which is the longest one. It was indeed a great one to remember, relish and rejoice the moment on this auspicious day.
The national flag was stitched by six tailors who didn’t charge money for making it. Talking about it, the club President said,”Things have improved with the waning of an insurgency. We wanted to show to the world about our village’s existence.”
India gained Independence from the British rule back in the year 1947. Talking about the details of our national flag that has four colours namely- Saffron, White, Green and Navy blue. Each colour signifies a particular message.
Navy blue wheel with 24 spokes is Dharma Chakra while the saffron colour stands for courage, sacrifice and the spirit of renunciation. The white colour signifies purity and truth whereas the green stripe stands for faith and fertility. People just can’t get enough of sharing this picture all over the internet.
