In a 2010 appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, Salman Khan openly addressed several controversies surrounding him, including his past relationship with Aishwarya Rai. The interview, hosted by Rajat Sharma, was candid and heartfelt, revealing Salman’s reflections on Aishwarya’s marriage to Abhishek Bachchan.
When asked about Aishwarya’s marriage, Salman responded with a sense of acceptance and respect, choosing to speak from a place of peace rather than dwell on the past.
He shared that he had decided to remain silent on the matter, respecting her new life and relationships. Acknowledging the years that had passed, Salman emphasized how he genuinely wished Aishwarya well and was pleased that she had found happiness.
“The best thing to do is stay silent,” Salman explained. “Itne saal beet gaye hai, you know, she is someone’s wife, married into a big family. I am very happy that she is married to Abhishek. I think Abhishek is a great guy.”
Salman’s words highlighted his goodwill toward Aishwarya and his belief that Abhishek Bachchan is a great partner for her. He expressed how, in the end, a person wishes for their former partner’s happiness, even after a relationship ends. Reflecting on this, Salman added that seeing Aishwarya happy in her marriage lifted any residual guilt he might have felt.
“You don’t want, once your friendship is over, you don’t want that person to be miserable without you. You want that person to be really really happy without you,” he shared.
For the record, rumours of a possible rift between Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan began swirling when the couple attended the grand Ambani wedding separately, sparking widespread speculation.
Adding fuel to the fire, fans noticed that neither Abhishek nor any members of the Bachchan family publicly wished Aishwarya on her birthday in October 2024. This unusual silence from the family raised eyebrows and intensified rumors about the state of their relationship.
