PM Narendra Modi is all geared up to launch a luxury Cruise in Varanasi so that people can easily travel by river. Interestingly, it is going to be the first ever luxury cruise, identified as “Alaknanda-Kashi” that reached Varanasi from Kolkata, finishing a journey of 1400 km on Wednesday. The advanced cruise developed by Nordic Cruiseline will open for tourists from August 15 i.e. on Independence Day.
It will tour the ghats of Varanasi, covering around 12 kilometres, thereby sharing a great deal of knowledge to tourists about the ancient city. Alaknanda-Kashi, the luxury cruise covers 2000 square foot area. According to the reports from Zee Business TV, preliminary precautions have been taken about the safety measures of the cruise.
Apart from plenty of lifeguards and jackets, the luxury cruise will also have a lifeboat during an emergency situation. The luxury cruise can also be used for seminars and parties. It is learnt that the ground level of the two-floor luxury cruise is fully air-conditioned.
The cost per person is estimated to be around Rs 750 which will show Varanasi and Ganga Aarti in the morning. The high-tech cruise is well fitted with modern equipment as well as seating arrangements for up to 60 people.
The company gives credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Start-up India’ initiative as the inspiration to kick off their operation. Recently, the river in Varanasi was so polluted. But after Modi’s interference, it got cleaned and got a cruise too.
