The 38-year-old, who has lived in Dubai for nine years, launched the brand in 2021 as a side hustle. Inspired by her pregnancy cravings, the British Egyptian entrepreneur decided to create something beyond the “usual” chocolate fix. And it has proven hugely popular, with Farhat Sweets’ sales increasing by 25% since she started making the bars a month ago. She has added more staff and extended working hours to meet the demand. A nationwide delivery service is also available through Farhat Sweets.
The outside of the Dubai chocolate bar has edible sprinkles hand-painted on it – but the inside is sure to make onlookers’ mouths water. People are left stunned when they bite into the green filling and can’t stop themselves from sharing their experiences.
Sarah Hamouda, founder of Fix Dessert Chocolatier, tells PEOPLE it’s “surreal.” “It was a dream of mine to create these chocolate bars. As an expat living in Dubai, surrounded by such a beautiful mix of cultures, I wanted to create something that people from all over the world could connect with — “something that would bring back special memories.”
