Indian multinational corporation Infosys Ltd. is in the headlines as it is looking forward to expanding its presence in India. The global software giant is all set to infuse an initial investment of staggering Rs.750 crores ($109 million) in a bid to build a world-class software development centre in UP’s Noida, the company said on Sunday.
The company offers business consulting, information technology and outsourcing services. It is cognisance of the fact that Infosys and it’s global subsidiaries are there in more than 50 countries. It is learnt that the state government has allocated around 27.5 acres of land for the space in Sector-85, Noida.
“The facility is a critical part of our effort to enhance our presence in the national capital region and leverage the talent pool available in this market.” chief executive officer (CEO) Salil Parekh said in a statement.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi heaped praise on India’s second-biggest software services exporter Infosys for enlarging its company in Uttar Pradesh as part of the ”Rising Uttar Pradesh, Powering New India” event in Lucknow today, held to promote the infrastructure capability in the state.
The company which always thinks of expanding possibilities is expected to house over 5,000 techies. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi felicitated our project at Noida with Rs 750-crore investment in phase-I which will have seats for 5,000 techies,” said the Bengaluru-based IT major in a statement in Noida.
“We are honoured that PM Modi has felicitated our upcoming Noida facility, which is a part of our effort to enhance our presence in the National Capital Region and leverage the talent pool available in this market,” said Infosys Chief Executive Salil Parekh on the occasion.
