Pakistan sports presenter identified as Zainab Abbas came under fire after she made shocking statements against the Hindu faith and beliefs in old posts, nine years ago on X handle (previously known as Twitter).
For the unversed, Zainab Abbas is currently part of the presenters’ list for the ongoing edition of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, which is currently being held in India. Recently, a Delhi-based lawyer filed a complaint against the sports presenter for her derogatory remarks against the Hindu community.
The lawyer, in his series of stated, had claimed that Abbas made some shocking remarks against Hinduism. He also claimed that Zainab also posted anti-India tweets.
Vineet Jindal, the lawyer based in Delhi, wrote, “Complaint against @ZAbbasOfficial filed by Advocate & Social Activist @vineetJindal19 with cyber cell Delhi Police. Requesting to lodge FIR under section 153A, 295, 506, 121 IPC and sec67 IT Act for making derogatory remarks for Hindu faith and beliefs and for anti-Bharat statements.”
“Zainab must be removed from list of presenters on immediate basis from ICC World Cup by @ICC & @BCCI. Anti-Bharat people are not welcome in Bharat. @HMOIndia @ianuragthakur @JayShah.”
Soon after that, reports of Zainab Abbas being deported from India spread like wildfire. However, that isn’t true as the ICC sportsperson informed that she was not deported but left India from Hyderabad to Dubai for personal reasons.
