We have heard many interesting stories about ordering one product and receiving the other in hand. Suppose, if you are ordering a brand new i-phone from a reputed e-commerce company and receiving a soap bar or a brick instead, what would be your first reaction after opening the seal?
Usually, when we see our desired product inside the package, we get surprised but when it’s not the actual one, we get shocked. If we order an item online, the retailer of the store makes sure that he picks the right product for us for the best service but rarely do mishaps happen.
For example, if we order a ‘computer keyboard’ and receive a ‘music keyboard’ instead, we can contact them and return the product to get the actual one. These minor mistakes are acceptable but we can’t really forgive the ones who send us stones of bricks instead of mobile phones.
Bizarre incident:
A man from Karnataka ordered a gold online worth Rs. 61,000 but he received an empty box. The person, identified as, Amit Garg, who works in a private firm in Bengaluru, ordered 20 gm gold coin from Flipkart but allegedly received an empty box from PVC Logistics.
If sources are to be believed, Garg had already paid a huge amount of Rs 61,000 for the 20 gm gold coin. Once the package was delivered to the doorstep, Garg opened the seal in front of the delivery guy. The moment when he opened it, he was astonished to see only an empty box. The full incident was captured in a CCTV camera and has been furnished by Garg as an evidence to the police. When asked the delivery executive, he suggested Garg to contact Flipkart.
According to the reports Flipkart told him that they would immediately get into the scheme of things to verify the complaint and due procedure would be followed. However, the customer never received a satisfactory response from home-grown giant.
A case of cheating under IPC 420, against the e-commerce and logistics firm has been lodged. “We have registered a cheating case and have issued a notice to Flipkart on the same. The investigation is underway. The complaint was filed with us because the alleged victim did not receive any response through emails from Flipkart,” the police said.
The police began their investigation and are inspecting if the coin was never dispatched or if it went missing along the way.
