The rising incidence of attacks on Hindu temples is becoming an alarming concern in recent times, drawing widespread attention on social media platforms. And no strict action is taken on this, only then such mischievous people get the courage to commit this crime. The latest incident occurred in the Brahmanbaria district where a Durga temple was attacked by local Muslims in Niyamatpur village.
Temples are facing frequent attacks and witnessing the unfortunate destruction of cherished idols on an almost daily basis. On the night of 20th July, at around 9.30 pm, a youth attacked a Durga temple in Niyamatpur village, Bramhanbaria district. Eyewitnesses said that the youth entered the temple with a stick in his hand and started attacking the idols. In moments, youths shattered numerous idols, including their heads.
It is being claimed that the person who broke the idol is a Muslim as he was shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ several times while breaking the idol. Additionally, local Muslims have given Hindus 24 hours to leave the country and travel to India.
Thankfully, local Hindus responded promptly to the attack and apprehended the perpetrator, handing him over to the authorities for legal action. However, to prevent the recurrence of such heinous crimes, it is crucial that strict action is taken against the culprits, regardless of their background, and that justice is served swiftly. The ongoing investigation into this matter remains underway. Hindu people are full of anger and are demanding strict action.
It is really a heinous crime. The foundation of a civilized society is based on religious and cultural unity. Hindu temples are the symbol of diversity and the pricelessness of Indian culture. These temples not only have religious importance as places of worship, but they also contain the accumulation of Indian heritage. But this crime has hurt the entire Hindu society. There is a need to think about and understand this issue because it threatens the alternate alliance of society.
