A gunfight broke out between the security forces and the hiding terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag town, officials confirmed the news. Police working on a special information, security forces surrounded Kotwal Mohalla in Anantnag town in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
“As the cordon was tightened, the militants fired at the security forces. Evacuation of civilians was started before launching assault on the hiding militants,” a police officer said.
Reports claimed that firing exchanges have already started in the area. It is also learnt that the Mobile internet services have been suspended in Anantnag district as a precautionary measure. The fierce encounter have come to a close and the combining operation is still on.
