The importance of temples and worship is extremely significant for Indian society. It provides an occasion for worship that is considered essential. Breaking temples and idols neglects religious ideals and shows disrespect towards religious sentiments.
Recently, a video has gone viral on social media, depicting how the Muslim head of a village has been harassing all the Hindu people. They are not allowed to worship in temples, and the idols of gods in the temples have been destroyed.
This incident occurred in the village of Nanak Nagari. In the video, a girl named Shivika says that she was performing puja (worship) and reading a book in the temple when the village head, ‘Chand Miyan,’ arrived and started an argument. Several other boys were also present, and they engaged in similar activities.
After the argument, the head declares in the mosque that all Hindus should be killed, and Muslim start beating Hindu people. Not only that, but they also vandalize the idols in Hindu temples, break the Shiva Linga (symbol of Lord Shiva), and destroy the trident. They even remove and throw away the flags placed on the temples. The village head is causing trouble for all Hindus, damaging Hindu religious things, and showing disrespect, which is an extremely shameful and disgusting act.
The government should take concrete steps to address this crime and ensure the preservation of the principles of religious harmony and tolerance. Social organizations that are instrumental in upholding these values should take strong action on this issue.
There should be a guarantee of the protection and preservation of religious freedom in our society.
