The camera chips in with a lot of interesting features such as upgraded Expeed image-processing engine, which is bound to capture high-quality images and Dual Detect Optical VR (Virtual Reality) that is claimed to “achieve a level of vibration reduction equivalent to a 5.0-stop increase in shutter speed, delivering sharp and clear images, even with hand-held telephoto shooting.”
The Coolpix P1000 boasts of a 16 megapixel, 1/2.3-inch sensor, similar to the previous P900 model, and an ISO range of 100-6400. The P1000 comes equipped with a high-resolution, roughly around 2359k-dot OLED electronic viewfinder. It spices it up with a 3.2-inch TFT LCD vari-angle monitor with wide viewing angle.
The camera is good that it can shoot 4K UHD (Ultra-high definition) video at 30 frames per second, from which frames can also be stored in the device as still images. It also has the capacity to record super lapse and time-lapse videos.
Coolpix P1000 weighs 1.4 kilograms and offers a wide range of connectivity options such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support including HDMI port for recording and playback to an external monitor, a cool microphone jack for sound capture, and a ‘hot-shoe’ for setting even more filmmaking accessories.
“An ideal companion for super-telephoto photography, be it birding, wildlife or celestial bodies, the new Coolpix P1000 endows our users with streamlined operability and high-resolution quality that is built to impress,” said Sajjan Kumar, Managing Director, Nikon India.
