Not many people in today’s world raise their hands to pitch in for a good cause. Talking about big personalities, in particular, most of them aim to outsmart the other by making more fortunate. But when it comes to making charitable donations, they don’t bat an eye. But, not all of them.
Sudha Murthy’s story is one that needs to be told to inspire other youths of the nation. Her story is so good that everyone would praise her after knowing what she has done for the welfare of the Indian society. She is the chairperson of Infosys Foundation in India.
Time and time again, she proved why she is a ‘mother of donations’. Her relentless attitude to donate money makes her a class apart. Despite being so rich, she succeeded in convincing her children about the virtual importance of a ‘simple living’.
She has a golden heart that she always aspires to give back to the society. She alone donated 10 lakhs to 100 students because she wants to spread the joy of reading among kids. She kept on donating because she always feels a great sense of accomplishment when she serves the needy.
She donated 40 crore rupees to Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, cancer care hospital in Bengaluru. Her Infosys Foundation had donated Rs. 30 crores for building houses in flood-affected villages of Karnataka. Sometimes, we run short of adjectives to describe her in one word.
According to Sudha Murthy, philanthropy means more than giving money. She believes that one has to speak some kind words and care for the needy people as this could impact their lives or else there would not be any snippet of space for happiness. According to her, young people having money with lack of experience and patience can take them in the wrong route.
When our Indian soldiers lost their lives in the defence of the nation, Sudha Murthy came forward to provide financial assistance to our Indian Security Forces. Sudha Murthy donated 10 crore rupees to the family of 800 soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the terror attack. Terrorists are making every single attempt to break the peace of the country. It’s because of the Indian Army, the country is maintaining its status quo loud and proud.
According to the foundation chairperson Sudha Murthy, there are many soldiers who have lost their lives in the defence of the country and in Naxal attacks. She also has a big list of 800 people. Sudha Murthy stressed the fact that money alone is not sufficient and people should reflect affection and back the suffering families of the martyred soldiers
