In shocking news, a woman in Maharashtra’s Raigad district allegedly used pesticide in the food at her relative’s house-warming function in Mahad village, killing 5 of them, after she was embarrassed for her dark complexion. The five people who were killed due to poison include 4 children and 1 elderly man. The accused, identified as Pragya Survase.
Apart from the killings, 120 people were hospitalised due to ‘food poisoning’ in the horrific incident that happened on Monday. The victims are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. However, the woman was seized and arrested by the police on charges of attempt to murder.
According to Anil Paraskar, who is Raigad Superintendent of Police, the accused confessed to her crimes because of family arguments. Anil Paraskar further added that 120 people fell ill and five of them died after eating at the function on Monday.
“She confessed to doing it because of family disputes. 120 people fell ill and five died after eating at the party on Monday,” Anil Paraskar told ANI.
