It has been more than two months since Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away under mysterious circumstances which left the whole country shocked. Bollywood is full of mysterious deaths of actors who passed away at a young age. Some believe that the movie Mafia silently murdered famous celebrities behind the scenes.
Ever since Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh filed an FIR against his late son and actor’s alleged ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, the case has taken a completely new turn.
In a massive victory for Rajput’s family, the Supreme Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case and asked Maharashtra to assist with the probe.
Meanwhile, the Congress party at Kolkata, actor Rhea Chakraborty’s home state, held a rally in support of the actor who was recently arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with drugs-related allegations in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. She was sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
“Political conspiracy and vindictive behaviour against Rhea Chakraborty, the daughter of Bengal, will not be tolerated. The protest rally was taken out from provincial Congress office to Wellington junction on the instructions of Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, president of the West Bengal Congress”, tweeted Congress.
In the rally that took place on Saturday, many Congress leaders and hundreds of people came on the street, backing Rhea Chakraborty. They held placards calling Rhea the ‘daughter of Bengal’. Rallies took place at West Midnapore and West Burdwan districts as well. Congress openly supporting Rhea adds to the political row in the case which had created quite a stir across the nation.
Rhea, her brother Showik Chakraborty and eight others have been arrested in the case. During questioning, Rhea revealed actors Rakul Preet Singh and Sara Ali Khan amongst those who consume drugs in Bollywood. Ms Chakraborty is in Mumbai’s Byculla jail for now. However, the court rejected bail on Friday after hearing arguments from the actor.
