There would hardly be anyone in the country or perhaps in the world, who doesn’t know lord Rama was born in Ayodhya. Ayodhya is as holy to Hindus as Mecca to Muslims and Vatican City to Catholic christians or for that matter The Western Wall in Jerusalem to the Jews is equivalent to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. It has been a place of sanctity for Hindus for thousands of years. Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile and India began to celebrate the day of his arrival as Diwali.
Around 5 centuries ago in 1528AD, Babar came to Ayodhya and stayed there for a week. On his instruction, the holy sites of Hindus were demolished by his troops and later on a mosque was built over which came to be known as Babar’s Mosque. It was built of debris, destroyed columns and left over stones of the old structure. During British Raj, the editor of Faizabad District Gazetteer wrote in 1870 that “the birthplace temple of Rama was destroyed by Babar and replaced it with a Mosque.”
K K Muhammed, a retired ASI official who was part of the team that conducted excavations at the site in 1975-76, said the pillar bases, a temple pranala, other architectural members — kalasha, amalka, shikhara — and an inscription declaring that the temple was dedicated to incarnation of Lord Vishnu were excavated from the site.
There were several other findings including idols of Hindu gods, punched stones, which could not be found in a mosque, glaringly indicated to the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) team that though it was not clear that whether Ram temple was existing at the site or not, however a temple existed under the Babri mosque, which was thousands of years older than the mosque.

Despite the fact that the Supreme Court has delivered its verdict based on evidences glaringly illustrating that the mosque at site was built over an existing Hindu temple, Self claimed Muslim scholars or leaders can be seen provoking the citizens to stir up tentions in the country. A video going viral on social media in which a man can be seen issuing threats to Hindus.

The president of the All India Imam Association, Sajid Rashidi, also made a provocative statement by giving a direct threat to the majority Hindus in India. He said the Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be destroyed again and a Mosque will be built over it.
