After the violent clash between India and China in eastern Ladakh’s Galwan Valley, tension has risen between India and China over the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
Congress President Rahul Gandhi alleged Modi government of sending soldiers unarmed and he further asked who was responsible for their deaths. The violent clash took place on 15th June in which 20 Indian soldiers attained martyrdom. Following which, Congress made several allegations against BJP.
A heated exchange of words broke out between the BJP and the Congress. BJP’s JP Nadda hits back at ex-PM Manmohan Singh and alleged that during the UPA’s tenure, former Prime Minister Singh abjectly surrendered hundreds of square kilometre of Indian land to China.
Meanwhile, a PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking an NIA/CBI probe into a 2008 agreement between Indian National Congress and Communist Party of China.
“Despite having a hostile relation with China, Respondent No. 1 (Congress) had signed an agreement when it was ruling the collision led government and hidden the facts and details of the agreement from the country,” the PIL alleged.
The PIL has been moved by advocate Shashank Shekhar Jha and journalist Savio Rodrigues. Shekhar Jha said, “The petitioners firmly believe that the Nation’s security cannot and shouldn’t be compromised by any one. Therefore, this petition has been moved under Article 32 of the Constitution of Bharat, which seeks to bring transparency and clarity regarding the agreement signed between the Respondent No. 1 (INC) and the Communist Party of China which is also the de-facto government of People”s Republic of China.”
It has been learnt that the relation between India and China was not up to the mark during Congress government. Despite having a hostile relationship with China, the said agreement was signed between Congress and the Communist Party of China in Beijing for exchanging high-level information and co-operation. Facts and details of the agreement were hidden from the country.
“The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) also provided the two parties with the “opportunity to consult each other on important bilateral, regional and international developments”, said the plea.
The plea has been filed against the INC and its leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi seeking details of this 2008 agreement as the Congress party failed to be transparent on a matter of national importance. “True spirit of liberty, equality, and fraternity could be achieved through medium of transparency and proper investigation and just judgment which could be achieved only if the agreement is investigated and secured by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967”, said the plea.
