The BJP took a dig at the Congress after Congress leader Jitu Patwari made a controversial remark against the Modi government. Jitu Patwari, an MLA from Rau constituency, took to Twitter to share a post in which he compared a host of Modi government’s schemes to daughters while the wait for the son, Vikas (development), continued.
Attacking the BJP government, Patwari wrote, “Putra ke chakkar me 5 putriyan paida ho gai! 1- notebandi, 2-GST, 3-Mahangai, 4-Berojgari, 5-Mandi, Parantu Vikas Abhi Tak Paida Nahi hua (Five daughters were born in an attempt to beget a son- 1-demonetisation 2-GST 3-inflation 4- unemployment 5-recession. But development was not born yet).”
As soon as he posted his tweet, his tweet went viral like wildfire and triggered a major controversy across the nation. His anti-women and hateful Tweet invited several people to criticize him. Following his tweet, social media users lashed out at him for defaming women.
Thousands of social media users condemned Congress leader for comparing women to GST and demonetisation and pointed out the plunging standards of Congress’ politics.
Congress faced the ire of people for defaming women. BJP lashed out at the Congress over Patwari’s tweet and alleged that Congress has insulted women. Now, the BJP asked the Congress president Sonia Gandhi to expel him from the party
Following his tweet, a heated exchange of words broke out between the BJP and the Congress. Now, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also come forward to react strongly to Patwari’s tweet. “On one hand the entire nation is remembering the sacrifice of Rani Durgavati, while on the other hand the Congress is humiliating India’s daughters. Has this perverted mindset of the Congress sacrificed many daughters like Naina Sahni, Sarla Mishra, Priti Mishra? Damn on this nastiest ideology of Congress,” Chouhan tweeted.
BJP’s national spokesman Sambit Patra urged National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Rekha Sharma to take prompt action against Congress leader and he wrote, “Please take note of this highly misogynistic tweet of an elected representative which projects daughters as unwanted & in most regressive manner.”
In reply, Sharma assured swift action in the matter. “This should not go unpunished!” she tweeted.
“Sad that these people with this kind of mindset are calling themselves leaders. What are they teaching to their followers I wonder. Will ask for an explanation from him for sure,” Sharma added.
