Shweta filed a complaint against her husband for allegedly harassing her. She alleged that her husband used to beat her and abused her daughter. The police registered a case of domestic violence against Abhinav under Sections 354, 323, 324, 504, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Shweta Tiwari compared her marriage to Abhinav Kohli with a poisonous wound. She termed the relationship as poisonous. However, she is really happy now.

“To be honest I am happy. People say you are going through so much. I want to tell everyone I was going through a difficult time but now I am in a happy space. I was going through severe pain because of an infection, I got it operated and got it out of my body. There was an infection which was hurting me badly, I got it removed. People thought it was my hand, part of my body, but they need to understand it was poisonous and I had to take it out. And now, I am healthy again. Don’t think I am trying to portray myself happy, I am actually happy”, said the actress.

When asked how she managed to cope, Shweta says, “It’s easy for people to say, ‘Ladki ne hi kuch kiya hoga ya usme hi koi problem hogi, tabhi doosri shaadi bhi nahi chal payi’. When I got married at the peak of my career, people told me that it’s over for me. But I didn’t let people’s opinion penetrate my mind. I didn’t even care what my khandaan will say, who only asked me how I was doing once in five years. I just care about myself, my kids and my immediate family.”

She is very clear about what she wants to do in life. “If anyone tries to harm my family, they hold no importance in my life. I don’t give them attention. But whoever keeps my family happy, helps them grow, I will go that extra mile to do anything for them,” she adds.

She says, “I don’t think I’m very strong. I’ve weak moments, too, but that isn’t for the audience to see.”
