In what can be termed as a shocking display of communal bias and blatant bigotry, a Muslim youth rated his Uber ride as poor, just because the driver was a Hindu. He then posted a screenshot of his shameful act on the social networking platform Facebook. In his post, he also tried to create a divide between Lord Hanuman and Goddess Kali, even going to the extent of saying that the former was not allowed in Bengal, according to him.
His shameful Facebook post referring to this Uber ride, goes as follows: “On 26th while returning from Kolkata station in a Uber I noticed there was a Bajrang Bali picture next to Maa Kali picture. After the trip got over I immediately gave the driver one star. That’s blasphemy ! No Honu in Bengal please.” The screenshot clearly mentions the driver’s name as Ram, followed by a one star rating.
The screenshot also shows his pickup location, day, time and bill amount of the ride, as well as the car’s model. The man’s facebook username is Sk Abid Hasan, and he had t aken the ride on 26th March 2018 at 6:29 am, in a Swift Dzire. The bill amount for the ride was 131.53 INR. From the details, it seems to be very clear, that there was no other reason for the man to rate the ride as poorly as he did, apart from his hatred for Hindus.
His post also includes the word ‘blasphemy’. This word refers to any act committed by those people and communities, who don’t believe in islam. Such people are also called ‘Kafirs’. Blasphemy is commonly used by ‘jihadi’ terrorists like those of the ISIS, as an excuse to identify ‘kafirs’, and then eliminate or proselytize them, in order to establish what’s according to them, is the supreme rule of islam.
Therefore, this act showcases that the man is not just any other hateful bigot, but he also has instincts similar to that of a terrorist. Such people are not only a danger to the secular and social fabric of the country, but they’re also likely to join some terrorist outfit or work as an agent of the enemy country. The Youth would appeal to the police and relevant authorities, to track this man and counsel him, in order to prevent any such likelihood.
