In shocking news, a BJP leader from Karnal fractured his leg after taking a fall off the second floor of an apartment building in Chandigarh, where he had secretly gone to meet a woman amid lockdown.
Chandraprakash Kathuria, leader of Haryana BJP, suffered a major leg injury after falling from the second floor of the building. He was rushed to the hospital where he is being treated. The police are yet to take the statement of the leader as he is unfit to make a statement.
During shutdown, people have been advised to stay at home and obey the lockdown rules. The number of cases keeps rising every day for the simple reason that people are not properly abiding by shutdown guidelines made by the government. Health officials have repeatedly stated that social distancing is very important to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but there are people who take it for granted.
According to reports, 51-year-old Kathuria is a resident of Panchkula who had gone to meet one of his ‘female friends’ on Friday evening. During his time someone knocked on the door. Out of fear, Kathuria tried to descend from the second floor balcony using a cloth, but lost his grip and fell down. He suffered a leg injury as he fell down. After this, he got injured and sat on the ground.
Meanwhile, people recorded the video and made it viral. The video of the incident is doing the rounds on social media. Two days after the video went viral on social media, Haryana BJP suspended him for six years.
Kathuria is a former chairperson of Sugerfed and had sought BJP ticket from the Karnal Lok Sabha seat in the last parliamentary election. He had also contested the assembly election from Karnal unsuccessfully on BJP ticket in 2009.
