Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor drew his last breath on April 30. The legendary actor was admitted to HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday morning. Rishi Kapoor was fighting cancer since 2018 and was in the United States for treatment for a year.
The actor’s brother, Randhir Kapoor, told the reporters on Wednesday night that Rishi Kapoor was admitted to the hospital after his health started deteriorating.
The actor is survived by his wife and actor Neetu Kapoor, son Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni.
Rishi was diagnosed with deadly disease cancer in 2018 and had returned to India from New York in September last year, following his cancer treatment. He was taken to the hospital on Wednesday morning, his brother Randhir Kapoor told yesterday.
An official statement confirming the actor’s death read: “Our dear Rishi Kapoor passed away peacefully at 8.45 am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukemia.”
Amitabh Bachchan confirmed the news of Rishi Kapoor’s death on Twitter. The tweet by Amitabh read, “T 3517 – He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !”
The actor was last seen in the web series The Body on Netflix. In fact, he had also shot for a film in Delhi earlier this year.
Rishi Kapoor who is the son of Raj Kapoor, hogged the limelight in the Indian cinema with his first film Mera Naam Joker, in which he played the role of a child artiste. The actor impressed everyone with his acting skills and for which he had received a National Award for Mera Naam Joker.

It should be noted that the actor’s last Bollywood film was the 2018 film 102 Not Out alongside Amitabh Bachchan.
