Everyone is well aware of the coronavirus outbreak which has spread in over 160 countries across the world. By far, the virus has affected over 2.9M people globally and the global death toll has risen to at least 2 lakh. Thankfully, over 8 lakh people have recovered from the deadly outbreak.
The speed with which corona is spreading seems unstoppable, thereby the world is going towards a lockdown. People are living in fear due to coronavirus pandemic. Coronavirus has put the entire world in a lockdown as there is no antidote of this disease so far.
Numerous reports have emerged of police maintaining social distancing amid nationwide shutdown. Policemen and Doctors are playing a crucial role in handling the panic situation in the country.
Shutting down a country of 1.3 billion people is probably the most challenging task in the current day, that too on such a short notice. This is really a challenging task especially for police who put their lives at risk and there is no solution to the pandemic except for “social distancing”.
An image, which was shared by IPS officer Madhur Verma, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Arunachal Pradesh, went viral on social media. The image shows the dedication of cops who have been working day in day out. Madhur Verma posted the image of two cops while they are sleeping on the ground after being tired.
The image shows two cops sleeping on the ground, rather, on what could barely qualify as a makeshift bed. The image was shared with the caption, ‘Isn’t comfortable bed and an eight hour sleep such a luxury ? Yes it is… if you are a cop! Proud of these #CoronaWarriors’.
People can infer from the picture of cops that these cops are sacrificing themselves to save others from the deadly disease. They are honestly fulfilling their duties without caring about their lives.
Police personnel are indeed corona warriors who are at the forefront to fight against the COVID-19 outbreak. The IPS officer talks about the ‘luxury’ of eight hours of sleep and a bed which apparently, not many cops have.
Cops have highly been praised for their dedication to the nation and several people have lauded their diligence in the comments section, they apparently also pointed out that these personnel should be well equipped and have enough resources to use since they have to deal with the pandemic on a daily basis.
They have been spreading awareness to implementing shutown to monitoring home quarantine, creating a strong surveillance system and overseeing the distribution of relief material. They are the ones behind the actual success of a week of lockdown.
