In shocking news, A woman IAS officer from Rajasthan has been transferred by Gehlot government just because she had fined Congress MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) Rajendra Singh Bhiduri’s driver on 14 April for breaking the lockdown rules.
Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Tejasvi Rana was accused of high-handedness in dealing with the public in Rajasthan‘s Chittorgarh district to enforce lockdown. The allegations were imposed by a former Congress MLA.
Former Congress MLA identified as Surendra Singh Jadavat, filed a complaint with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and also accused SDM Tejasvi Rana of snatching currency notes from vendors in a vegetable market.
“The officer reached mandi and misbehaved with vendors there on Tuesday. It was the time when the district administration had already announced a relaxation for four hours.
“There was no crowd on shops and the traders were sitting idle but the officer aggressively accosted them, threw their registers after snatching them from the shopkeepers,” Jadavat alleged.
However, Rana was just doing her duty to ensure that everyone obeys shutdown guidelines set by the central government. She asked the driver of the car to show driving licence as he was driving the vehicle amid the nationwide lockdown.
Rana, a 2017-batch IAS officer, imposed a fine on the driver for not having valid vehicle documents. On this, the Congress MLA became furious and lodged a complaint against SDM Tejasvi Rana, due to which she was transferred.
