In heartbreaking news, a 30-year old woman identified as Rizwana Khatoon of Jamshedpur had alleged that she lost her child even before its birth owing to delay in seeking medical assistance as she was asked by the hospital staff to clean up her blood after she reached Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College and Hospital in Jamshedpur on Thursday.
The woman who wrote to Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday had further alleged that, had she been given timely medical assistance, she would not have lost her child.
The written letter from the woman went on to add saying that it took her some time to mop her blood spread on the floor.
To make things worse, the pregnant woman was even thrashed badly with slippers by the hospital staff on religious lines charging her of spreading the coronavirus epidemic after which, she was in immense pain and was quickly rushed to a nearby private hospital where the doctors declared that the child was dead.
The lady through the written letter requested Chief Minister Hemant Soren to take strict action against the wrongdoers so that such incident does not repeat with others.
Meanwhile, Jamshedpur Deputy Commissioner has initiated a probe by forming a team asking it to submit the report within 48 hours.
“A three-member team comprising Deputy Superintendent of MGM, Senior Magistrate of District Administration and Officer in Charge of concerned Police Station, asking them to investigate the matter and report within 48 hours,” said the Deputy Commissioner.
Deputy Commissioner said that the team was formed soon after the letter was received on Sunday evening.
