It seems the political game is not over yet in Madhyapradesh. A close congressman has told The Youth that CM Kamal Nath will leave no stone unturned to save the Govt. He indicated that the state congress is in touch with around 20 BJP MLAs and the reactions from them are positive.
The Kamal Nath government is now on the brink of losing power in Madhya Pradesh after the resignation of Senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia. Scindia, who is known to be a close aide of Rahul Gandhi, has left the Congress helpless.
Nakul Nath, the son of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, is still confident said that the government will survive.
Nakul said, “There is no threat to the Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh. MLAs who have gone to Karnataka will soon return to the Congress fold. I am very confident that the government will survive.”
He said that the resignation of MLAs has not been accepted by the Speaker because the MLAs did not hand over the resignation to the Speaker in person. It is being speculated that CM Kamal Nath is also paying tactics to attract as many as 20 BJP MLAs towards Congress. If he succeeds in luring BJP MLAs, the Congress government will survive in the state.
Madhya Pradesh government has plunged into a political crisis after Jyotiraditya Scindia isolated himself from Congress. Now, Scindia has formally joined the BJP in the presence of party chief JP Nadda.
Jyotiraditya Scindia, pillar of Congress party, believes that he cannot serve the country anymore being in Congress, therefore he has resigned from the party.
It all started when Scindia threatened to take to the streets if his party’s government in Madhya Pradesh failed to meet the demands of protesting guest teachers. Kamal Nath, in response to Scindia’s threat, said, “Toh woh utar jaaye (let him do so).”
Kamal Nath-led government in Madhya Pradesh is making all possible ways to induct at least 20 BJP MLAs into Congress. It remains to be seen whether the Congress party will be able to sustain power in the state.
