During PM Narendra Modi’s one-day trip to his Lok Sabha constituency, Varanasi, on February 16, he met Mangal Kewat, the rickshaw puller who sent his daughter’s wedding invite to the PM.
Narendra Modi had enquired about the health and well-being of Mangal Kewat and his family while also applauding him on his fruitful contribution to the Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan.
It should be noted that inspired by PM Modi, Mangal Kewat took the responsibility on his own to clean Ganga banks in his village.
Earlier, Mangal Kewat expressed his happiness after receiving a congratulatory letter by PM Modi for his daughter’s wedding.
“We had sent the first invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I personally handed it over at the PMO in Delhi. On February 8, we received the congratulatory letter from PM Modi, which has excited us,” Mangal Kewat told news agency ANI on Saturday.
In reply to Kewat’s invitation, PM Narendra Modi sent a letter to Kewat, congratulating him on his daughter’s wedding and also conveyed his blessings to the family.
Mangal Kewat’s wife Renu Devi and he himself had earlier expressed the wish to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Varanasi.
