The Indian junior (U-21) mixed team of Markoo Raginee and Sukhbeer Singh wrote a new success story for themselves now as they clinched a gold medal in the World Archery Youth Championships in Madrid, Spain.
The Indian pair completely outsmarted Swiss opponents in a closely contested battle 152-147, to win the biggest honour on the day. Interestingly, this was also India’s first gold in this edition of the championships.

The two young athletes made their debut in the world championship and much to everyone’s surprise, both archers showed calmness, composure and quality in the summit clash to come through with flying colours in the end.
The Indian paid had shot two 10s to clinch 38-36 in the first end and they followed it up with three 10s in the second end only to make it 39-37.
They then managed to win by one point (37-36) for a total lead of five points which was more thana enough to get hold of the gold medal in the end.
