Impressed with the Prime Minister’s work and his government’s welfare schemes, a Muslim woman in Uttar Pradesh has made up her mind to even name her newborn ‘Narendra Damodardas Modi’.
After failing to convince the mother named Mainaz Begum against it, the family in Parsapur Mahraur village filed a written statement seeking the registration of the name.
Mainaz Begum decided that while names for the boy were being discussed on May 23, it was the day the Lok Sabha results came in and Narendra Modi won the elections.
Though people convinced her to change her mind, she was adamant, her father-in-law Idrees told PTI.
When her husband identified as Mushtaq Ahmed, who works in Dubai, was notified, he too tried to make her drop the idea.
The family filed an affidavit addressed to the district magistrate and then submitted it to Assistant Development Officer (panchayat) Ghanshyam Pandey.
When communicated, Pandey said he received the affidavit on Friday.
He said the application has been circulated to the village panchayat secretary, who usually deals with the registration of births and deaths.
“Action will be taken as per the law,” he added.
In the affidavit, Mainaz Begum showered praise on Narendra Modi and his government’s welfare schemes in addition to the free cooking gas connection to the poor and financial assistance to build toilets.
“He is doing very good work for the country,” it said.
The affidavit went on to praise the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the initiative to put an end to triple talaq.
Her father-in-law Idrees also added that naming the child was the family’s private affair and “no one should interfere in this.”
