Union Minister Smriti Irani is celebrating her birthday today as she turns 43. Her longtime friend Ekta Kapoor shared a sweet message on Instagram with a beautiful picture of the duo.
Ekta tagged Smriti her ‘soul sister’ as she wrote: “To my soul sister! Ur one of d loveliest ppl I know ! Although I know nothing about politics I know one thing …u stand up for wats right n fight for anyone who is marginalised by society! Also I love ur wicked sense of humour!!! 😉 maasi happie bday we wait for u in bby after ur hectic months of elections n campaigning!! Lots of love duaaas n wishes from ravioli n me.”
FYI, the Minister of Textiles, Smriti Irani made her television debut with Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kyunkii…Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ in the year 2001.
Smriti Irani also won the best TV personality of the decade award in 2014 and also won 4 times Indian Television Academy award in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 for her role of “Tulsi Virani” in ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. She also won Indian Telly award in 2002, 2003 and 2004. She was awarded “Women Achiever’s Award” In 2005.

Meanwhile, Ekta Kapoor recently shared a video of Smriti on her online streaming platform- ALTBalaji, in order to promote her latest web series called ‘Home’. The former TV actor Smriti Irani is seen going back in time — 35 years back — to visit her first ever home in Gurugram.
Uploading the video, Ekta’s caption read: “HOME is not just made up of four walls, but it is love and family that make a house, a HOME! Watch the emotional journey of @smritiirani as she revisits her childhood home and for the first time shares her #MyHOME story with us @altbalaji.”
Coming back to Smriti Irani’s birthday, PM Narendra Modi took to his official Twitter handle ad wished Smriti Irani on his Twitter handle. He wrote: “Greetings to @smritiirani Ji on her birthday. She has made valuable contributions towards strengthening the BJP and in the working of key sectors of the Government. I pray for her long life and good health. I also convey my best wishes to her for the upcoming election in Amethi.”
