Pakistan PM Imran Khan on Friday stepped forward to condemn the terror attack at Christchurch in New Zealand and blamed Islamophobia for the mass shootings that killed at least 52 people leaving 20 others injured.
Expressing his regret regarding the cowardly attack in New Zealand, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan tweeted, “Shocked and strongly condemn the Christchurch, New Zealand, terrorist attack on mosques.”

Imran Khan added that the Christchurch attack “reaffirmed what Pakistan has always maintained”. “Terrorism does not have a religion. Prayers go to the victims and their families,” Imran Khan said.

The Prime Minister hit out at Islamophobia for the attack as he took to Twitter to tweet, “I blame these increasing terror attacks on the current Islamophobia post-9/11 where Islam & 1.3 bn Muslims have collectively been blamed for any act of terror by a Muslim.”
Imran Khan said, adding that it has been “done deliberately to demonise legitimate Muslim political struggles.”
At least 52 people were killed in Christchurch of New Zealand on Friday after a terror attack at two mosques. Four were arrested by the New Zealand Police and one of them was charged with murder.
As many as 43 people died at one mosque, eight at another and one person died in hospital, New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush while addressing the reporters at the press conference, described the attack as a “very well-planned event”.
The man who was charged with murder is in his late 20s and should appear in Christchurch court on Saturday, Bush added. The gunman went live on Facebook of the attack on one mosque in New Zealand’s Christchurch.
