Following Indian Air Force operation against terrorist camps in Pakistan’s Balakot, Pakistan Air Force violated Indian air space with an intent to target military forces this morning.
The Indian Air Force fought back to this violation into airspace. In the following battle, a Pakistani F 16 was shot down by an IAF Mig 21 Bis aircraft.
IAF ran out of luck as it also lost a Mig 21, lost to ground-based anti-aircraft fire. The Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Air Force confirmed that an Indian pilot is lost.

The pilot’s name is identified as Wing Commander Abhinandan. In an alleged video which is widely circulated on the internet, the pilot can be seen bleeding profusely from his forehead while his eyes covered by a cloth.
Despite having ejected and badly hurting himself in the process, he is seen talking calmly but when asked about is squadron, he refuses to reveal any info (name, rank and number)
As per the reports, Wing Commander Abhinandan was a member of the SKAT -Surya Kiran Acrobatic Team (skilled pilot). His father is an ex-Indian Air Force officer. The Indian Air Force also lost a Mi 17V helicopter where four of them lost their lives.
IAF successfully conducted air-strikes only to eliminate terrorist launchpads in Balakot, Chakothi and Muzaffarabad. In the encounter, Hizbul, Jaish and Lashkar camps have been demolished in 21 minutes, which killed at least 325 soldiers and terrorists. The operation came after 12 days of Pulwama attack.
