A Facebook page supporting Congress President Rahul Gandhi, by the name of “With Rahul Gandhi” uploaded a video that depicted Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, one of the world-popular skyscrapers, showing Rahul Gandhi’s photo perfectly fit on it.
The page posted this video only yesterday and ever since it was published, it started to spread like wildfire on social media as it has been shared more than 4,000 times now and viewed over 60,000 times.
You can cross check it on Facebook by typing “With Rahul Gandhi” in the search box. The part of the caption of the post written in Hindi translates to. “Beautiful scene of Rahul Gandhi’s photo being displayed on Burj Khalifa ahead of his Dubai tour.”
The part of the caption in English reads, “Rahul Gandhi’s pic displayed on Burj Khalifa. Dubai”. It is cognisance of the fact that Gandhi is visiting Dubai on January 11 for a two-day trip. Though it is true that Gandhi is visiting Dubai on January 11 but it is sure that Burj Khalifa did not display Gandhi’s photo as claimed in the Facebook post.
TOI did a verification on this. Upon verification, they searched news reports to verify the claim made by the Facebook post -that Gandhi’s photo was displayed on Burj Khalifa ahead of his upcoming visit (January 11) to the city, but they could not find any such thing.
TOI learnt that a logo on the top-right corner of the video was first uploaded by the Facebook page that made the claim, and it said. “Biugo”. An easy search on Google with “Biugo” showed that it’s a video-making application. TOI downloaded the application and learnt that it allows images of our choice on various templates. One of the templates the application showed is “Burj Khalifa Tower.”
