Cries and screams of “Kader Khan” filled the air as news of Veteran actor-writer demise spread. He passed away aged 81 due to prolonged illness on December 31, his son Sarfaraz confirmed the news. Kader was admitted to a hospital in Canada and his son said that his last rites will be conducted in the country.
“My dad has left us. He passed away on December 31 at 6 pm as per Canadian time due to prolonged illness. He slipped into coma in the afternoon. He was in the hospital for 16-17 weeks.
“The last rites will be performed here in Canada only. We have our entire family here and we live here so we are doing it. Kader Khan’s son Sarfaraz told PTI. “We are thankful to everyone for their blessings and prayers,” he added.
Experienced actor Kader Khan was hospitalised in Canada after he ran through breathing problems. The 81-year-old veteran actor was under the weather and has been suffering from progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) which is a degenerative brain disorder that affects body movement, walking, and balance as well.
Hailing from Kabul, Afghanistan, Kader Khan has contributed a lot to Bollywood as he has acted over 300 films and written dialogues for over 250 films. Kader Khan made his acting debut in the 1973 Rajesh Khanna-starrer Daag. As a screenwriter, Kader Khan’s works have never been in doubt.
He will forever be remembered for his contributions to the film industry. Rest in peace, Kader Khan!
