Time and time again, Director Shankar showed the world how good he is when it comes to producing some blockbuster movies. He is someone who knows how to bring the audience to the theatres and which is why he is the master of big-budget entertainment in the Tamil cinema industry. His imagination is surreal and gives a visual treat to the audience at the best scene.
However, his recent movie 2.0 took the world by a sensational storm as the movie is creating big records. Now, the movie has crossed a massive mark at the international box office. As per trade analysts, the film has bagged about Rs 700 crore ($100 Million). Interestingly, only 53 films from across the world have achieved such a huge milestone.
“In 2018, 53 Movies have done $100 Million at the WW Box Office. From # India, #2Point0 (WW) and #SecretSuperstar (In #China) have done more than $100+ Million [₹ 700+ Crs] at the WW Box Office,” according to trade expert Ramesh Bala, who took to Twitter to post the stats.

It should be noted that Rajinikanth’s 2.0 and Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar are the only two Indian films which are among the 53 blockbusters from across the world. 2.0, which is the costliest movie of the Indian cinema industry, made on a big budget of Rs 550 crore (approx), brought together 2 superstars of Indian cinema- Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar respectively.
2.0 is a superhero film which depicts a super intelligent AI Chitti (Rajinikanth as Robot) who fights against the supervillain (played by Akshay Kumar), who has a unique ability to control cell phones. Actress Amy Jackson portrayed the role of a domestic robot called Nila in 2.0.
Academy Award winner AR Rahman composed the music for this movie, which was produced by Lyca Productions. The 2.0 team is all set to release the film in China in May 2019. The Rajinikanth-starrer film is expected to hit about 56000 screens in the neighbouring country.
