Infosys Foundation Chairperson Sudha Murthy once again proved that she is the mother of donations. The golden lady continued her philanthropic gesture by donating a whopping Rs.10 lakh each to the families of the martyrs who have sacrificed their precious lives for the country. She distributed cheques of Rs. 10 lakh each to the families of H.D. Kote Taluk’s Mahesh, Mysuru’s Ramesh, Hassan’s Nagesh, Yoganand, Sandeep Kumar and Sagar at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office of late.
Sudha Murthy said, adding that it was not possible to bring a human back to life once he/she is gone. She said that it is everyone’s duty to help the families of martyred soldiers. In this case, Sudha Murthy made sure that she gave financial support to the less unfortunate ones. “This money should be used productively for the education of the children and should not be spent on marriages,” Sudha Murty advised to the martyrs’ kin.
MP Pratap Simha said that the money is being credited to the families of six soldiers who have been martyred in the last 3 years. A few others said that there were soldiers who sacrificed their lives in their families and that they too needed support.
When Sudha Murthy came to know about this, she immediately asked to prepare a list of unfortunate ones’ families as she believes that there is no other service greater than that of a soldier and his sacrifice to the nation. So, nobody need feel dejected as everyone will get financial assistance.
