In a recent chat with Hindi Rush, Rahul opened up about the Bhatt family’s complex dynamics. And while he acknowledged Alia’s meteoric rise in Bollywood, what followed was a shocking comparison that has now triggered serious buzz online.
“She Has the Universe with Her” — But That’s Not All
Speaking about Alia, Rahul started off with praise, calling her talented and aware of the importance of PR in today’s world. He said:
“She has got talent. She has the universe with her. She understands PR. She has everything, and when you have everything, the universe conspires to make it happen.”
So far, so good, right? But that’s where the tone shifted.
“Not Even Half of What Pooja Is”
Rahul didn’t hold back as he boldly claimed that Alia Bhatt isn’t even half as talented, beautiful, or sexy as his full sister, Pooja Bhatt. Taking a sharp dig, he said:
“In my opinion, she is not even half of what my real sister Pooja is. Not in talent, not in looks, not in terms of being sexy. In front of my sister, she is ‘paani kam chai (not as good).’”
He even went on to declare Pooja Bhatt as the most talented and most morally grounded sibling among all of them:
“Amongst the siblings, the most talented and the most moralistic is Pooja.”

Now, this isn’t the first time Rahul Bhatt has made headlines for his unfiltered opinions. But to compare two successful actresses from the same family—especially calling one far superior in every department—has definitely left fans stunned.

On the other, Pooja Bhatt, who once ruled the screen in the ’90s, has always carried a bold, unapologetic presence — and returned recently to acting with critically appreciated performances.
