Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh, the two powerhouses of talent in Bollywood, made their mark early in their careers and have continued to stay in the spotlight for their work and personal journeys.
While Anushka charmed audiences with her natural performances in films like Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and NH10, Ranveer burst onto the scene with unmatched energy and versatility, becoming one of the most dynamic stars in the industry.

The two made their big-screen debut together in Band Baaja Baaraat, a rom-com that not only launched Ranveer’s career but also cemented their sizzling on-screen chemistry.
The film was a hit, and fans couldn’t help but wonder if there was something more brewing off-screen. Years later, they reunited in Dil Dhadakne Do, a star-studded film that also featured Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Farhan Akhtar, and Vikrant Massey.
However, in a candid 2011 interview with NDTV, Anushka revealed exactly why she could never date Ranveer Singh—and her answer was refreshingly honest.
Anushka’s Honest Take on Ranveer as a Boyfriend
When asked about Ranveer once joking that he couldn’t handle Anushka as a girlfriend and that she’d “kill her boyfriend,” Anushka had a blunt response:
“Ranveer can’t be a boyfriend.”
She went on to praise his talent and dedication but admitted that during that phase, he was too focused on himself.
She explained that she needs a partner who cares about her day too—not just talks about his own—which, according to her, Ranveer didn’t do. That’s why dating him was never really an option.
Fast forward to today, both actors have found their happily ever afters. Anushka Sharma tied the knot with cricket superstar Virat Kohli in a dreamy ceremony in Italy. The couple are now proud parents to their daughter Vamika and son Akaay. Ranveer Singh, meanwhile, married actress Deepika Padukone, and in 2024, the couple welcomed their first child—a baby girl named Dua.
On the work front, Anushka was last seen in Zero alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Though the film didn’t click at the box office, she took a break to focus on personal life and other ventures. Ranveer, on the other hand, continues to be busy, he was last seen in Singham Again and is gearing up for Dhurandhar directed by Aditya Dhar and Farhan Akhtar’s much-anticipated Don 3.
