Soha Ali Khan, known for her poise and versatility, has carved her own niche in Bollywood. The daughter of veteran actress Sharmila Tagore and legendary cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, Soha has always maintained a dignified presence in the industry with films like Rang De Basanti and Tum Mile.
Lately, she has stepped into darker territory- literally by playing a chilling role in the upcoming horror thriller Chhorii 2.

In a recent interview with Mirchi Plus, Soha opened up about a truly spooky real-life incident that continues to haunt her family’s history. While discussing horror films and haunted sets, the actress revealed a personal story that sent chills down the spine.
Soha, who portrays an evil dasi in Chhorii 2, shared that her ancestral home, Peeli Kothi, located near the famed Pataudi Palace, was believed to be haunted. The experience was so unsettling that her entire family reportedly vacated the premises and shifted to Pataudi Palace.
When asked whether she’d ever shot on a haunted set, Soha said:
“I don’t know about sets, but there’s our house in Pataudi.”
She continued:
“There is a palace next to Pataudi Palace called Peeli Kothi. Our family used to live there, and overnight everyone packed up and moved out to where Pataudi Palace is now. The reason cited for the sudden shift was a supernatural one. I don’t know how true that is because, obviously, I wasn’t present then. But apparently, my great-aunt was slapped by a ghost, and the mark was visible on her face.”
Soha added:
“My point is, whether it happened or not, that is prime real estate — but it is still empty. Ek khandar jaisa hai (it’s like a ruin). There must be a reason why people are not occupying that place.”
While fans were intrigued by the story, some have speculated that this may be a clever promotional move for Chhorii 2, the sequel to the 2021 horror film Chhorii starring Nushrratt Bharuccha. With the film’s theme revolving around the supernatural, Soha’s revelation has definitely added an eerie layer of real-life suspense to the film’s buzz.
