Customer Slams Blinkit for Delivering Grapes That Weigh Less Than Advertised – Here’s How the Company Responded

Advertising today often creates a picture-perfect illusion of products, but in reality, customers are frequently left disappointed.

From misleading promotions to weight discrepancies in groceries, people are starting to call out brands on social media. This time, Blinkit, a popular quick-commerce platform, is under fire after a customer exposed a shocking weight fraud.

Customer Slams Blinkit for Delivering Grapes That Weigh Less Than Advertised - Here's How the Company Responded

A Reddit user recently shared their frustrating experience with Blinkit. They had ordered 600 grams of grapes, but when the package arrived, it felt suspiciously light. To verify, they weighed the package and found that the actual weight, including packaging, was only 370 grams—significantly less than what was promised.

Initially, the customer let it slide, thinking it was a one-time mistake. However, when they ordered again a few weeks later, the same issue happened again. This time, they ordered 500 grams of grapes, but the package weighed only 395 grams, packaging included.

“Ordered grapes from Blinkit a couple of weeks back and the packet felt suspiciously lighter. Weighed it to realize it was only 370 grams. I let it go, thinking it was a one-off error. To my surprise, the same thing happened again yesterday. The half kg package of grapes weighed only 395 grams (including packaging).”

Interestingly, this wasn’t an isolated case. The same user reported multiple instances of quantity and quality discrepancies, including:

  • Open boxes of cat food with missing pouches
  • Cheaper fruits and vegetables delivered instead of premium ones
  • Overpriced products that didn’t match the advertised quality

After facing consistent issues, the customer suspected that Blinkit might be doing this deliberately to mislead buyers.

“I feel this isn’t by accident but a rather thought-out way to scam customers. Please use Blinkit only if absolutely necessary and double-check everything to ensure you are not being scammed.”

Here’s how Blinkit Responded

As the Reddit post gained momentum, many users shared similar experiences, raising concerns over Blinkit’s order fulfillment practices. This eventually caught the company’s attention. “We completely understand the unsettling experience you had with us,” Blinkit replied.
