In IPL 2024, Jadeja once again proved his worth with a standout performance against Kolkata Knight Riders. He picked up three key wickets to lead CSK to a commanding 7-wicket victory. His exceptional bowling display earned him the Player of the Match award, and it also sparked a fun exchange with the CSK franchise on social media.

During the post-match presentation at Chepauk, Harsha Bhogle asked Jadeja if the CSK franchise or fans had given him a special title—similar to how MS Dhoni is called ‘Thala’ (leader) and Suresh Raina was known as ‘Chinna Thala’ (vice-captain).

When told that some fans had proposed the title ‘Cricket Thalapathy,’ Jadeja admitted that he hadn’t officially received any name yet.

“I hope they’ll give me a title because mine hasn’t been confirmed yet,” Jadeja said with a smile.

Shortly after, CSK responded on Twitter in style: “𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗘𝗗 𝗔𝗦 𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗬 😉” The tweet instantly went viral, with fans celebrating the new title for Jadeja. ‘Cricket Thalapathy’ perfectly suits him, given his leadership with the ball and his fearless approach to the game.

He is expected to make a telling impact as a three-dimensional player for CSK going forward in the upcoming season of the IPL.
