Food safety concerns have once again taken center stage after Miss Universe India 2024 finalist Chayanika Debnath shared a shocking experience on Instagram.
The model and influencer claimed she found worms in the rice bowl she ordered from ‘The Good Bowl,’ a popular cloud kitchen brand listed on major food delivery platforms. Her revelation has sparked widespread discussion about food hygiene and customer safety.

Chayanika, who frequently orders from ‘The Good Bowl,’ posted a reel narrating her distressing experience. She explained that she was casually eating her meal while watching TV when she noticed some blackish grains in her rice.
Moments later, she sensed an unusual taste and spit out her food, only to discover a half-eaten worm. A closer inspection revealed more worms in the meal. She also highlighted how many working professionals, like herself, trust these brands without second-guessing food quality.
Swiggy and The Good Bowl’s Response
Following her post, Chayanika reached out to Swiggy and The Good Bowl, but her frustration only grew when Swiggy merely refunded her order without taking any apparent strict action. She publicly called out both brands on Instagram, stating that Swiggy’s response was inadequate and that The Good Bowl’s customer service disappeared after initially requesting her contact details.
Swiggy later responded in the comments section, stating:
“Hi Chayanika, that shouldn’t have happened. Could you please help us with the order details on DM, so we can run this by the team?”
The Good Bowl also acknowledged the issue, apologizing and assuring her that they would investigate the matter thoroughly.
This incident has once again raised questions about the quality control measures followed by cloud kitchens and food delivery platforms. Consumers rely on reputed brands for hygiene and safety, but cases like this highlight the need for stricter regulations and accountability in the food industry.
