But recently, during the Dharma Sansad in Raipur, he made derogatory remarks against the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and also questioned Nehru becoming the Prime Minister instead of Sardar Patel. He called Mahatma Gandhi the father of the dynasty, not the father of the nation.

The Congress had lodged a complaint against Kalicharan Maharaj in the police station, but he absconded. On December 27, late at night, Kalicharan released a video of 8 minutes and 51 seconds on his YouTube channel. In the video, Kalicharan said that he had no regrets about using derogatory language against Mahatma Gandhi. The cyber cell team of the police started tracing him and arrested him from his last location, Khajuraho.
