The auto driver who came to Saif Ali Khan’s aid on the day he was attacked has finally shared his thoughts, making it clear that he seeks no reward for his actions. However, he humbly admitted that if the actor were to gift him an auto rickshaw, he would graciously accept it.
Rana, the auto driver, had a brief but meaningful meeting with Saif Ali Khan on January 21, just before the actor was discharged from Lilavati Hospital.

The actor embraced him and expressed heartfelt gratitude for his timely help. In a touching moment, Saif also introduced him to his mother, the legendary Sharmila Tagore. Rana, showing deep respect, touched her feet, and she blessed him in return.
When asked about whether he received any financial reward from Saif, Rana chose to keep the details private.
“I have promised him (Saif), and I will stick to it. Let people speculate—whether it’s Rs 50,000 or Rs 1,00,000. But I will not reveal the amount. He has requested me to keep it between us, and I will honor that.”
While Rana insists he is not expecting anything in return, he acknowledges that if Saif chooses to gift him an auto rickshaw, he would accept it with gratitude.
“I never claimed that I deserve any reward for what I did, nor am I doing this out of greed. But if he chooses to give me an auto rickshaw, I would gladly accept.”
On January 16, Saif Ali Khan suffered a terrifying attack when an intruder broke into his Bandra residence and stabbed him six times. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent two surgeries.
The shocking incident led to the swift arrest of the attacker, 30-year-old Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a Bangladeshi resident. The Mumbai Police apprehended him in Thane on January 21, and he was placed in five-day police custody by a metropolitan magistrate’s court.
