Bhopal Traffic constable owns a Villa in Dubai worth ₹150 crore

A shocking case came to light during the raids conducted by the Income Tax Department across the country. This time, the heat of investigation has reached former RTO constable Saurabh Sharma, who is accused of hiding a huge amount of property and cash. 52 kg of gold and Rs 9 crore 86 lacks found in an Innova on Mandora Kushalpur road in Ratibad near Bhopal have been ‘safe’.

According to sources, former RTO constable Saurabh Sharma, accused of the biggest gold seizure in the country’s history, very cleverly played a trick to convert his entire number 2 goods into number 1. A few days before the raid, he fled abroad and made himself safe. As it was speculated earlier that he went to Dubai, it is believed that he is hiding somewhere in India with his wife.

His mobile phone has been switched off since December 16. Income tax officials are trying to connect the links and reach a conclusion regarding the seizure of 52 kg of gold and Rs 11 crore cash from an abandoned vehicle. The officials suspect that the seized gold and cash belong to Sharma. Efforts are on to trace the gold brought to the city.

Meanwhile, Sharma’s properties are likely to be seized. Interestingly, he owns only a few properties, most of which are registered in the name of his company and his close associate Chetan Singh Gaur. The officials have reportedly found that Sharma’s brother-in-law Vinay Haswani may have played a key role in the vehicle’s movement carrying huge cash and gold. The officials also traced the car’s movement and believed it may have been headed towards the NLIU road.

The Lokayukta police have written to the Income Tax Department seeking details of the gold and cash seized from the car; however, the Income Tax Department officials are not keen to share them. It is worth mentioning that the Lokayukta police raided Sharma’s residential premises. So far, the Income Tax officials have recorded the statements of Sharma and his close associate Chetan Singh Gaur. The department has also issued a summons to Sharma’s other associate, Sharad Jaiswal, but he has not yet appeared to give his statement.
