Subhash’s suicide case has not even cooled down yet and another new suicide case has come to light whose video is going viral on social media. Dhananjay committed suicide after being fed up with the alleged harassment and mental torture by his wife and in-laws. Before his death, he gave a statement that shocked everyone. He said, “If I do not get justice, then throw my ashes in the gutter, just like Atul Subhash had said.”
This case is from the Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The victim, Dhananjay, recorded a video before committing suicide in which he held his in-laws and wife responsible for everything. Dhananjay was married for 8 months; problems started in his life right after the marriage. His wife and in-laws are accused of constantly putting Dhananjay under mental and financial pressure.
Dhananjay ends the video, crying, ‘I want justice and if I don’t get justice, throw my ashes in the gutter, as Subhash bhai had said.’ Dhananjay narrated his painful story in his last video note. He said that his wife and in-laws tortured him a lot, and fed up with all this, he decided to take this drastic step.
How long will this continue, how long will innocent people keep committing suicide and how long will such videos go viral on social media to get justice? How long will the harassment and mental pressure against men in society continue? Today there are Indian law rights for women, which many women are misusing against their innocent husbands.
Many laws have been made in India to ensure women’s safety and rights. Although the purpose of these laws is to empower women and stop atrocities against them, in some cases they are misused against innocent men. This trend not only ruins the lives of men but also weakens the voice of real women who are victims. Women’s rights in law need to be re-emphasized. There is also a need for a change in the law for men.
