India gets another Viswanathan Anand, he is more aggressive than Carlsen

India has got another chess star; this player is D. Gukesh, the youngest player who recently won the title of World Champion by raising the flag of India in the world of chess. This achievement of Gukesh is a proud moment for India.

This promising player from Andhra Pradesh proved his talent in the world of chess at a young age. Gukesh won this title through his aggressive style, quick thinking, and deep strategies. By becoming the world champion at the age of just 18, he has given the whole country a chance to feel proud. His feat is also important in the sense that before him only Vishwanathan Anand could win this title for India.

Gukesh won this crown after 14 tough games. It was a tie match until the 13th game between him and the defending champion, Ding Liren. In the 14th game also, such a situation was created where it seemed that this game would also be a draw and both the players would have to face each other again. But a mistake by Liren cost him heavily, and Gukesh showed that he knows how to use the opponent’s wrong moves to his advantage.

What did Kramnik and Carlsen say?

Kramnik expressed disappointment at the level of play and termed Liren’s mistake as ‘childish’. Five-time world champion Norway’s Magnus Carlsen has also criticized the level of chess in the opening round. The five-time world champion and Gukesh’s mentor, Anand, remarked that he saw Gukesh making history. Anand told ‘PTI Video’, ‘I am very happy. I was seeing history being made yesterday.’

What did D. Gukesh say in his statement?

Regarding the criticism against him, D Gukesh said, ‘I know that maybe my performance was not good in some games, but I believe that world championship matches are not just about chess, but better character and better willpower, and I think I have displayed these qualities quite well.’
