In a recent incident, a husband committed suicide due to the constant harassment from his wife and the judiciary. How the laws to protect women are being misused is a concern. Before committing suicide, the victim released a video in which he told about the harassment he was facing and shared his last wish.
According to the video, the husband was fed up with the daily harassment from his wife, and he did not get justice from the judiciary either. Frustrated by this, he thought it right to take this path and committed suicide by making a video. When men, especially husbands, get caught in fake allegations, their voice gets suppressed somewhere. Bound by the shackles of society and family, they are not able to even express their sufferings.
In the video, the husband shared his last wish. He said that the custody of his child should come into the hands of his parents so that they can raise him with values. After this, he warned his family members not to meet his wife without any camera or in a public place because any fake case could be filed against you. And his next wish was that his wife or any member of his family should not come near his dead body.
Further in the video, he says, his ashes should not be immersed until he gets justice. If despite so much evidence, the court does not punish my culprits, then throw my ashes in the gutter outside the same court so that I get a lesson about the value of life in this country. After this, he said that he complained about the judge to the High Court and Supreme Court through email.
Many laws made for the protection of women, such as dowry harassment law, are being misused at their peak. On one hand, where these laws are truly a means of getting justice for the victimized women, on the other hand, they are also being used as a weapon to trap them in fake allegations.
It is important that every person gets justice equally. There is a dire need to reform the judicial system of this country. Society can progress only when every person, be it a man or a woman, can expect justice.
