“Chant Allah o Akbar if you want to do last rites of Hindu body in Bangladesh” Maulana threatens

In Bangladesh, attacks and threats on Hindus by fundamentalist Muslims are increasing. Hindus have been caught in the trap of fundamentalism, and it has become difficult to escape. Recently, an Islamic Maulana’s statement, “Wherever a Hindu is seen, he will be slaughtered,” went viral on the internet. This is not only provocative but also a serious threat to the Hindu minority of Bangladesh.

The Hindu community in Bangladesh constitutes about 8-10% of the population. This community has been facing religious discrimination and violence for a long time. Attacks on places of worship, forced conversions, and incidents like abuse of women have become common. Now fundamentalist Muslims are directly threatening, “If any Hindu is seen, he will be slaughtered.”

Even the dead bodies of Hindus are not safe in Bangladesh. The fundamentalist Muslims there have said that the ‘Allah hu Akbar’ slogan must be raised first at the funeral of Hindus. Islamic Muslims have targeted Hindus in Bangladesh. Many such threatening videos have gone viral on social media in which maulanas are openly threatening people with weapons. Viral videos depict open incitements to violence by extremists.

After watching the viral video, the viewers shared many types of reactions. A user writes, “It is a conspiracy to scare Hindus; all propaganda is set; there is huge funding… The Indian government and the army should take action because when people fight together, the army there commits atrocities.”

Another user writes, “How many minority Hindus are left in Afghanistan, how many are left in Pakistan, and how many will be left in Bangladesh? If not much, then look at the history of 70 years; the history older than this is even more horrifying; now think what will happen if Hindus become a minority in this country.”

Another user writes, “Here in Hindustan, Hindu temples are demolished to build mosques and there in Pakistan and Bangladesh, those temples are not allowed to remain…what mentality these Jihadis have…may they be cursed.”
