Internet is furious as girls at IIT Bombay do item songs

Recently, a video of a group dance of students from IIT Bombay on the item song ‘Munni Badnaam’ has gone viral, which sparked a buzz on social media about vulgarity. After this video, a video of a student from IIT Roorkee also went viral in which she danced to the item song, ‘Taras Nahi Aaya Tujhko’.

The video of IIT Bombay students dancing on stage with a woman on the hit song ‘Munni Badnaam’ from Salman Khan’s superhit film ‘Dabangg’ has become a topic of discussion. In the clip, students are seen performing with the dancing woman. Almost all the boys are wearing black dresses following the same dress code. The students are seen giving a strong performance on stage with the dancing woman.

After this video, now a video of a female student from IIT Roorkee on the song ‘Taras Nahi Aaya Tujhko’ went viral on Platform X. In which she is wearing a black crop top and skirt. These songs are made through cinema to entertain the audience, but their presence in academic and technical institutions raises questions. Should item song performances be allowed in top educational institutions like IIT?

The video has been shared by the Twitter handle ‘Shubhangi’. After watching the video, users gave various reactions. Critics have blamed item songs in Bollywood for being performed in such prestigious institutions. Some have even questioned their upbringing. On the contrary, some users did not object to these videos but praised them.

A user wrote, ‘What is wrong with this, the girl is talented, she is showing her talent by dancing, now if you do not have any extra skill, do not be jealous of others!’

Another user writes, ‘Our culture does not teach that obscenity should be promoted in colleges, the college administration should not encourage such dirty things,’

Another user writes, ‘India will progress even more, thousands of universities in India have completely turned into Horn Industry.’
