“We will not let you celebrate you Diwali in India” Muslims gather against Hindu festival

Recently, a video of Jamia Millia Islamia was seen on social media. In the video, a large crowd is seen gathering and shouting slogans of Allah Oh Akbar. This crowd gathered because Hindu students celebrated Diwali in Jamia Millia Islamia and the Muslim community was against it.

According to other sources, some students of Jamia Millia University were celebrating Diwali on the university campus itself. Rangoli and Deepotsav program was organized in this program named Jamia Deepotsav 2024. But when the students were celebrating Diwali, at the same time some people from outside opposed the students’ celebration of Diwali.

It is alleged that people from outside broke the Diwali lamps by driving their vehicles and spoiling the rangoli. A case of beating of some students has also come to light. It is alleged that during this time some people were also raising slogans of ‘Palestine Zindabad’ and ‘Allah Oh Akbar’.

According to sources, the university was closed for the Diwali vacation. Before the students left, they had decided to celebrate Diwali. In this sequence, Diwali was being celebrated on the university campus today. A Diwali program was organized in Gulistan-e-Ghalib near Gate No. 7 of the university. Permission was taken from the university administration for this program and some professors were also invited to this program.

One thousand lamps were lit on the university campus. Many Muslim students also cooperated in this. A professor of the university started the program by lighting the lamp. The students allege that the students who came from outside made objectionable comments against a particular class shouted slogans and created a ruckus.

The victim students allege that at the time when this incident happened, the university’s Chief Proctor and guards as well as many officials were present. But even after this, the students were not stopped. There are allegations that some students were also beaten up when they protested against the breaking of lamps by the students.
